OPEN HOUSES

What's Hollins like? There's no better way to find out than to visit. Come talk to our students about classes, internships, community service, and study abroad opportunities. Sit in on a class or two and find out why our professors get high marks in such college guides as The Princeton Review. Stroll around Front Quad, lined with beautiful and historic buildings.
By the end of your visit, you'll have a clearer idea of the many ways Hollins can help you get the most out of life -- and why Hollins alumna and Pulitzer Prize winner Annie Dillard described her alma mater as a place where "minds catch fire and hearts open to a world of possibility."

Campus tours
Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, the Hollins campus features historic buildings that are wired for the future. Visit the Hollins authors collection in the library, named Virginia’s first National Literary Landmark, which houses original manuscripts by Margaret Wise Brown, Annie Dillard, and Lee Smith.

Classes
Attend classes -- biology, communication studies, business, English, psychology, political science, dance -- whatever you find interesting. In a recent student-satisfaction survey, 96 percent said they were satisfied with the out-of-class availability of their professors and their attitude toward students.

The Academic Picture
Members of the Hollins faculty share information about academic life, internships, and career opportunities that make the Hollins experience distinctive.

Why Choose Hollins?
Hear students’ candid comments about their academic life, community service projects, athletic involvement, and leadership and abroad opportunities.

Focus on Parents
Parents ask questions and learn about Hollins' academic mission, admissions policies, financial aid and scholarship opportunities, student life, and coordinated approach (beginning with the first year) to academic advising and career development.

The $35 application fee is waived if you submit your completed application while on campus.
