Daniel Murphy, Elisabeth Lineberger Ramburg Professor of Spanish Daniel Murphy has taught at Hollins since 1993. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. His research interests include Golden-Age poetry, 20th-century Spanish and Spanish-American poetry, and Spanish culture. He has published an article in the Bulletin of Hispanic Studies on Fray Luis de León and is the author of Vicente Aleixandre's Stream of Lyric Consciousness (Bucknell University Press, 2001). He has also given talks at national and international conferences. Professor Murphy is an advisor to Spanish majors and first-year students, and is the faculty co-advisor to the Spanish House and Sigma Delta Pi. He can be reached via e-mail at dmurphy@hollins.edu. Alison Ridley, associate professor Alison Ridley came to Hollins in 1991 after completing her Ph.D. at Michigan State University. Professor Ridley's research interests include the Spanish picaresque and 20th-century Spanish drama. She has published articles on the Spanish dramatist Antonio Buero Vallejo and the picaresque novel Guzmán de Alfarache. She has also given papers at national and international conferences. Professor Ridley serves as an advisor to Spanish majors and first-year students, and is the faculty co-advisor to the Spanish House.
