PROJECT VOTE SMART

All about elections (GOVT 6.) : this nonprofit, nonpartisan organization provides information about political candidates to voters.

  • Detailed information for federal and state elections, some for local.
  • Candidates from all parties and all persuasions ñ no bias
  • Contact info, bio, key votes, issue positions (NPAT =National Political Awareness Test)
  • Interest groups ratings: groups from every end of the spectrum. (GOVT 9D)

Can look up representatives by various pieces of info under "Current Elected Officials
Can even look up special interest groups by subject - Issues and Interest Group Ratings - and then find out which legislators that group rates most highly (or lowly!)

Also:

  • (@ top)under "Issues and Legislation" you can monitor progress of major federal legislation
  • online Voter Registration forms for each state,
  • Under " Political Resources" are links to agency, party and issue organizations (GOVT 9D), also web sites with political science information:
