Interdisciplinary graduates: Where are they now?

Kelly Strawderman Freundt

Kelly Strawderman Freundt '03, M.A.T. '06, interdisciplinary major in photojournalism and Spanish. Freundt is department chair and teaches Spanish in the Tidewater area of Virginia.

"I did an independent study with an art history professor about women in photojournalism, which culminated in a 30-page research paper. Part of my research involved attending an exhibit at the Newseum in Arlington about women photographers for National Geographic magazine."

Laura Tuggle Anderson

Laura Tuggle Anderson '98, interdisciplinary major in art, English, theatre. Anderson is director, alumnae and donor communications at Hollins.

"So many of my classes bridge the gap between departments. My major is a prime example of how much flexibility there is within and between departments at Hollins."
