Computer Services Support for Faculty

Many of the Hollins faculty use Blackboard course authoring software to make course material available on the web. Blackboard supports online quizzes, forums, a whiteboard, as well as the posting of slide presentations and documents.
Courses in all areas of the curriculum use computers to enhance their offerings. Several teaching labs allow 18 or more students to work  on computers. Other classrooms are equipped with a computer station for the professor, overhead projector and screen.
All classrooms are wired for connection to the internet.

Seminars Available:
Computer Services offers seminars on using software such as Blackboard, Access, and FrontPage to support class activities.

Computer Lab Facilities:
Several large labs and small labs are open 24 hours/day 7 days/week. Labs are located in Dana 110A, Dana 111, Dana 115, Dana 236, Library ground floor and 2nd floor, and Pleasants 204. All labs are equipped with Dell computers.
In addition to  the general computer labs, there are small labs with specialized software and hardware for Biology, Chemistry, Psychology, and Film Editing.
