Pet project.

Bebe Flynn '80 was already running a successful TV commercial casting business in Los Angeles when she was moved to start up an entirely different enterprise.

In 2009, after volunteering for Meals On Wheels, Bebe learned that large numbers of seniors share their meals with their pets because they can't afford pet food. She founded Miss Lilly's Trading Company and started selling a premium line of cookies, brownies, and gift tins, with a percentage of profits funding the Miss Lilly's Pet Program. The program provides food, flea medicines, in-home vet care, and specialty diets to the pets of home-bound seniors. Recently, Miss Lilly’s created a line of pet treats. Now all the company's products, for both pets and humans, are available online and in more than 100 stores.

After graduation from Hollins, where Bebe prepared herself to lead "a rich inner and outer life," she earned an M.A. in creative writing/fiction at the University of Houston before heading to Los Angeles to found Bebe Flynn Casting.

"I have had two very different careers and have been very well prepared for both, thanks to my Hollins education," says Bebe. "I have lifelong friendships with many of the amazing people I met there."
