Cape Town, South AfricaHollins students may enroll for one semester at several universities in South Africa through an exchange program with the Arcadia University Center for Education Abroad. The program is based in Cape Town with opportunities at three universities: University of Cape Town, University of Western Cape, and University of Stellenbosch. All students are required to enroll in a core seminar "Contemporary Issues in South Africa." UCT boasts excellent faculties in science, engineering, and commerce. UWC is located 15 miles from the center of Cape Town. Archbishop Desmond Tutu serves as Chancellor and the university is a leader in research and teaching. English is the teaching language at both of these universities. The official language of instruction in Stellenbosch is Afrikaans; however, a wide array of courses taught in English address the specific needs of the international student. Housing varies from university residence halls to student apartments at all universities. These programs are open to qualified juniors with a GPA of at least 3.0. Please note: Application through Hollins is open to Hollins University students only. |
