He is a junior and French major at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. "My term on Hollins Abroad- Paris was an experience I would not trade for any other. The faculty members were great, the classes all very interesting, and I could not have had a better experience with my French hosts. The program far exceeded my expectations." Benjamin Smith |
Hollins Abroad-ParisThere is no better way to understand a country than to live there. That's exactly what students from colleges and universities around the country have been doing for over fifty years on Hollins Abroad. Hollins was among the first colleges in the nation to offer an international study program -- in Paris, in 1955. Since then, Hollins has been nationally recognized for the quality of our study abroad programs. Hollins Abroad -- Paris is a distinctive program combining outstanding classes, field trips in and around Paris, guided group excursions to other regions of France, and special academic options to provide a comprehensive French cultural experience. Hollins Abroad's offices and classrooms are located in Reid Hall, just off Boulevard Montparnasse, near the Jardin du Luxembourg and close to the Sorbonne. It's a lively neighborhood, whose streets were once the haunts of Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, Eugène Ionesco, and Pablo Picasso, and are still a center of Parisian intellectual and artistic life. Our faculty includes scholars who have studied and taught at the Sorbonne and other renowned universities in Paris. Our full-time director is a native of Paris who has studied and taught in the U.S. and is a specialist in French language and literature. She works individually with each student to make sure they have the best possible study abroad experience both academically and personally. Hollins Abroad is open to men and women enrolled at U.S. colleges or universities. Most Hollins Abroaders are juniors, but qualified sophomores and seniors can also be considered. You can enroll for fall, spring, or the academic year. New merit award for non-Hollins students on Hollins Abroad-Paris is now available. Click here for more information. Join us on Hollins Abroad. It will open your eyes in ways you never expected. What you learn will last a lifetime.
