University of LimerickEstablished in 1972, the University of Limerick is located in Ireland's 650-acre National Technological Park on the Shannon River, just outside of Ireland's fourth largest city. A thriving, modern city, Limerick offers a variety of historic, artistic, and theatrical attractions as well as an especially lively music scene. The university enrolls over 12,000 students, including more than 600 international students. The University of Limerick offers a wide range of courses with special strengths in the natural sciences, social sciences, technology, and Irish studies, including a new program in Irish traditional dance. The unique equine studies program is of special interest to equestrians and students interested in veterinary science. Hollins students in Limerick live in apartment suites in student villages on campus. Each suite has several single bedrooms and a shared living room and kitchen. Students prepare their own meals or eat in the subsidized restaurants on campus. Hollins provides an allowance to cover the cost of meals. The fall or spring program with the University of Limerick is open to qualified juniors with a cumulative G.P.A. of at least 3.0. Pre-med and pre-vet students may enroll as second-semester sophomores with the recommendation of the pre-professional advisor. This program is open to Hollins students of humanities, social sciences, and physical sciences. 112807 |
