Strategic planning at Hollins University

The strategic plan approved in 2006 emphasized four interconnected hallmarks of its undergraduate experience:

  • Leadership development
  • Global and intercultural understanding
  • Environmental and cultural sustainability
  • Creativity

Hollins also committed to strengthening institutional effectiveness by enhancing the recruitment and retention of talented students and faculty and its academic and campus life facilities, sustaining strong resources, and generating new revenue through year-round campus use and lifelong learning opportunities.

See the links below to review selected accomplishments in all of these areas and the background and history of strategic planning at Hollins.

Building on these successes, and looking ahead to the next five years, a new strategic planning process was announced in August 2011. During the 2011-12 academic year, the campus community will be involved in developing a new strategic plan that will focus our efforts through 2016. The final plan will be posted in May 2012, following approval of the Board of Trustees.
